So BLB decided to invite some friends with kids, over to the BLB household, for some portraits and burgers (I was there for the burgers, but apparently, I was also responsible for the portraits). The setup was simple enough, a 24x24 Speedlite softbox, a YN 560II gelled with a half cut CTO (everything fired by “Budget/Poverty Wizards” AKA CowboyStudio Triggers), all these things were mounted on an Impact QuickStick, and Patty was my VAL (by the way, I LOOOOOOOVE this t-shirt), and out we went to make some photos. We tried a couple of locations (the first being a little “picnic” type setup, the second a little beach on a lake). For the lake, I wanted the sunset as background, but a cloudy sky kinda messed that up for me (funny enough, 15 minutes after we called a wrap and went back home, the sunset was BEAUTIFUL).
First off was Sophia, you have already seen this little girl before in our posts (HERE). I love taking pictures of her, mostly because she’s such a grump, getting a smile out of her (while having the camera), is nearly impossible. She will do most anything but smile, to her mother’s constant chagrin, but we got some very nice frames.
Then, it was Harrison’s time, this little dude stole the show, after a couple of frames I knew I had the shot of the little man.
Next, Andres and Alex, they were far more interested in the apples than the pictures (and then I found out that Andres HATES sand on his feet).
After that, we made some hamburgers, and had dessert... so it was a pretty awesome day.
